Radio Production Taster Sessions

Live in the Dalton area & interested in making radio programmes?

Ever thought of being a presenter? Maybe editing or going out & interviewing people? Another role?

If so why not pop along to one of our radio production taster sessions happening in April 2018 & try some of the skills out & see if being part of our volunteer production team is for you.

We will be presenting a monthly magazine style show for CandoFM starting in the summer & want people to help out.

Each session is limited to a small number of people so booking is advised.

This project has been funded by The Eric Wight Charitable Trust

The Eric Wright CharitableTrust is a charitable body that was formed by Mr. Wright in 1990, based on the belief that the role of business in society is not to create wealth for the few but instead is fundamental to the building of a strong community.  Originally vested with 49% of the shareholding, the Trust is now the sole owner of 100% of the Group, following the gift of his remaining shares by Mr. Wright.

The Trust works with a broad range of charities, primarily in the North West of England, with particular emphasis on Young Persons’ Wellbeing; Elderly Services; Education and Training; Health; and Carers’ Support.

In addition, the Trust is also directly involved in running two of its own charities, namely:

  • Water Park Lakeland Adventure Centre: based at Coniston, the centre provides outdoor adventure facilities, working particularly with socially and physically disadvantaged groups

  • Eric Wright Learning Foundation: working with Preston’s College, the Foundation assists in the provision of vocational learning as part of the College’s overall curriculum and supports local schools through bursaries

Whilst many commercial organisations donate a proportion of their profits to charitable causes, the ownership of The Eric Wright Group by the Trust has created a unique long-term partnership between the commercial and charitable arms that enables the entire organisation to function in the manner of a social enterprise.
